Sidemount Diving
"Sidemount" is a method of diving 1, 2, 3 or 4+ cylinders in a configuration where none of them are on your back. Prodominately used in cave diving (to enable explorative penetration), sidemount is now becoming evermore popular in recreational and tec diving circles. The benefits:

PADI TecRec courses at Tec 40, Tec 45 and Tec 50 support the use of sidemount configurations. A new PADI Sidemount Specialty (due 3rd quarter 2011) introduces divers to sidemount diving and can be used as preparation for TecRec courses.

We have a range of technical diving equipment for hire for use whilst training including a Sidemount system. Full equipment hire including technical gear, drysuit, fins, mask, dive computer is charged at £55 per day. Stage cylinders are available in 7 and 11 litre capacities. Nitrox may be used in both stages and back gas at additional cost. Open water site entry fees and transportation are not included.
Prerequisites:
You must be at least 15 years old and be a qualified Open Water diver or equivalent for the PADI Distinctive Specialty. Tec 40 and Tec 45 prerequisites as shown on the appropriate course.
All our open water diving is conducted in drysuits. You may wear your own drysuit, semi-dry or wetsuit. It is advisable that you are comfortable with drysuit diving prior to engaging in technical diver training. If you do not have experience of drysuit diving you may wish to consider undertaking drysuit training with us prior to the course.
